The short version

This site doesn’t use cookies, analytics or ad trackers. The only personal information it collects is the email address you give if you sign up for the newsletter.

The newsletter

If you sign up, your email address goes to Kit, the service that keeps the mailing list and sends the emails. Kit first sends you an email asking you to confirm, and you’re only added once you click the link in it.

I use your address only to send the newsletter: news about the book, and the occasional note after that. I never sell it or share it with anyone else. Like most newsletter services, Kit tells me whether an email was opened and which links were clicked.

Every email has an unsubscribe link. You can also write to me at [email protected] to see, correct or delete what’s stored about you. Kit’s own privacy policy explains how it looks after the list.

The website

The fonts and images come from this site itself, not from Google or other outside services. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which handles technical information such as IP addresses in order to deliver pages and block abuse.

The advance reader copy remembers your place and your reading settings in your own browser. That stays on your device and is never sent to me.
